Camp Positions:
Camp Counselors* (must be at least 18 years old) have the unique privilege of devoting a week of your life to loving and affirming 1-2 campers who may never have experienced this kind of positive attention from an adult willing to spend quality time together each day.
Assistant Counselors* (must be at least 16 years old) offer support to the camp counselors and campers and are assigned to a ‘cabin’ group. You’ll participate in all the activities, build relationships, and help meet the needs of campers as the counselor supervises.
Relief Counselors* help at camp, typically in the evening hours to provide a break for the full-time counseling team. You’ll be with a “cabin” group alongside other relief counselors and enjoy the evening activities with campers. Training is required.
Breakfast Club Helpers* help in the morning during a rousing time of puppets, games, lesson/activity and high energy songs. The counselors step away for a morning meeting so it’s all hands-on deck during the fun time for kids.
Other Full-Time Camp Staff* are needed in daily camp operations such as nurses, behavior specialists, activities coordinator, deans of men and women, coaches, and others depending upon the need.
*Training: If your role includes responsibility for campers (like counselors, leaders, etc), you will receive 8-12 hours of training to better equip you to relate to campers, to help build a unified team, and to learn what is in store during the week at camp.
Part-Time Volunteers include birthday team, camp grandparents, logistics helpers (loading truck, setting up, tearing down), craft helpers, face painters, photo book team, artists, fishing helpers, wood workers, instrument teachers, photographers, activities assistants, audio tech, rock painters, and more!
Perhaps you have a skill or resource to bring a new element to camp. Feel free to email us with your ideas.
Not-At-Camp Helpers:
Many hands are needed to help with projects and activities before camp or after camp. If traveling to camp doesn’t work for you, consider helping with the following:
Blanket makers, Crochet Team, Bird Feeder Kits, Welcome Home dinner, hospitality meals at training, and more. Camper Registration volunteers are needed on Monday morning at Mosaic Church. This includes: Luggage checks, Handing out T-Shirts, Checking for head lice, handing out snacks, or bringing a certified therapy dog.
All those interested in a part-time position must meet with the Volunteer Coordinator to determine the level of training needed, the type of application to submit, and discuss the background check process.
All new and returning positions above must submit an application. The RFKC Team will ensure you have a background check completed or have one that has not expired on file with Mosaic Church (formerly Family LIfe). New counselors and assistant counselors will be interviewed by our camp's advisory/leadership team.
